Walk to End Alz
"As 2021 marks the 38th anniversary of the partnership between the Alzheimer's Association and Sigma Kappa Sorority, we look forward to once again participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's and having another incredible year in our fundraising efforts. We have had successful fundraising for Sigma Kappa, and it is a strong statement about our drive and passion to see a world without Alzheimer's."
Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research."
Each year, our chapter proudly participates in Gainesville's Walk to End Alzheimer's. In 2020, we raised over $18,000 through the fundraising efforts of our passionate members. We cannot wait for next year!

Sigma Singo
Due to COVID-19, we were not able to safely hold our annual Sigma Shootout. However, we were still so passionate about fundraising, so we hosted Sigma Singo, a virtual bingo event!  All of the proceeds were donated to the Alzheimer's Association: one of the philanthropic causes Sigma Kappa supports.
During our event in the fall of 2020 we raised nearly $700 through sign-up fees and donations. We are so incredibly happy to have had such a successful virtual turnout.

Sigma K's Pasta Buffet
Each Spring, our chapter hosts our annual pasta buffet benefiting The Sigma Kappa Foundation. The Sigma Kappa Foundation's mission is to create and fund leadership, scholarship and philanthropic initiatives that reflect the values and spirit of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Some of our own members have been directly impacted by the Foundation through scholarships. In the spring of 2021, Sigma Kappa raised nearly $4,000 to donate to the Sigma Kappa Foundation!  Attendees were able to enjoy all-you-can eat pasta, salad, and refreshments, and got to learn more about the impact of the Foundation.

Service Projects
In the spring of 2021, we participated in over 15 service projects! We worked closely with Keep Alachua County Beautiful and did many community cleanups. On Sigma Kappa Day of Service, our sisters volunteered at an animal adoption event and Repurpose Project, gardened at Peacefield Farms, picked up litter at the Great American Clean Up, and wrote letters to elders and healthcare workers.
